Selecta Recreation Park

Taman Rekreasi Selecta is one of East Java's most iconic family recreation parks, located in Batu, Malang, at 1,100 metres above sea level on the scenic slopes of Mount Arjuna. Originally built in 1928 during the Dutch colonial era, Selecta has grown into an 18-hectare park combining a stunning flower garden, thrilling rides, a natural swimming pool, and waterpark — all set against a backdrop of cool mountain air and panoramic highland scenery. Visitors typically spend 3–5 hours exploring the park at their own leisure, making it ideal for a half-day or full-day trip.

Upon arrival, guests present their ticket at the entrance gate and are free to explore the park at their own pace. The centrepiece of the park is its iconic 10-hectare flower garden, showcasing a vibrant collection of seasonal blooms including chrysanthemums, cannas, orchids, and hydrangeas — perfect for leisurely walks and photography. For those seeking more excitement, the park offers a wide range of rides and attractions including Sky Bike (aerial cycling over the flower garden), Flying Fox, Family Coaster, Ferris Wheel, Swing Boats, Row Boats, Water Bikes, Kora-Kora, Mini Train, Kiddie Rides, and a 4D Cinema.

Guests can also cool off at the swimming pool and waterpark, featuring multiple pools for adults and children, waterslides, and splash areas filled with naturally cool mountain water. Beyond the rides and pools, the park is equipped with an aquarium, ornamental fish bridge, picnic areas, gazebos, and a restaurant serving Indonesian cuisine from IDR 15,000 per portion. Horse riding is also available for an additional fee.

Guests are advised to arrive early — before 11:00 AM — to enjoy the cooler mountain air and smaller crowds, as the park tends to get busy between 11:00 AM and 15:00 WIB, especially on weekends and school holidays.
