In spring, more than 350 wisteria trees are in full bloom, including the great wisteria with a trellis measuring almost 2000 square meters, the 80-meter-long white wisteria tunnel, and the Kibana wisteria. Kurume azaleas, roses, clematises, rhododendrons, and irises are also in full bloom. In summer, hydrangeas and water lilies color the park. In autumn, 20,000 amethyst sages dye the grounds purple, and from mid-October to mid-February, the Garden of Illuminated Flowers, which has been certified as one of Japan's top three illuminations, is also a must-see.
